Tsunami/Earthquake disaster mobilizes relief
effort by international community. Death Toll
estimated at 120,000 but final number may
be much higher due to onset of disease in
unsanitary conditions and unaccounted persons
swept away by ocean. Poor access to clean
water and basic medical supplies are most
pressing issues in the days following disaster.
A mid-ocean 9.0 magnitude quake sent a
massive wave racing 500 mph ocross the Indian
Ocean on Sunday December 26, 2004. People
across Southeast Asia, stricken by the Tsunami
Disaster, need your help to recover and
rebuild - many have lost everything. We
encourage you to donate and pray for victims
and their families.
Oxford Committee for Famine Relief
In 2003, nearly 78 percent of funds went
directly to our programs. The balance supported
fundraising (10.7 percent), member recruitment
(5.4 percent), and administration (6.5 percent).

In 2002, the total UNICEF expenditure was
$1,273 million. Of this, 93 per cent was
spent on its programs around the world,
six per cent went to management and administration
and one per cent to write-offs and other
charges.
