BUS 206 Business Communication
This course covers the role of written communication in management, with some application of oral communication in the business world. Compositional techniques and audience analysis applied to various types of letters, memoranda, and reports to teach effective communication in typical business situations. Business Communication I includes principles of and composition of effective basic business letters and memorandums as well as accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and format. Keyboarded assignments are required.
The following are acceptable topics for this course:
- Demonstrate a familiarity with communication foundations.
- Examine electronic communication including but not limited to e-mail, teleconferencing, document processing, electronic research, and the Internet.
- How to access, analyze, and utilize information.
- Master basic writing skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of the composition process.
