Andragogy

At AIU, we apply the principle of Andragogy in our student’s education. Andragogy comes from the Greek (andr-) meaning "man" or "adult person", and (ago), meaning "I guide" or "I lead". Therefore, it can be interpreted to mean that we believe that adults need to know the reason to learn something and that experiences, including mistakes, provide the basis for learning activities. At AIU, you are responsible for deciding your curriculum with our advice.
The multidimensional andragogy is the principle that self-instruction (with guidance), collaborative design of a unique curriculum to each student, and flexibility of time and place of study provide the ideal learning environment.
