Assignment Transcript

This research focuses on understanding the profound effects of father absenteeism among inner-city male teenagers in Montego Bay, Jamaica, specifically at St. James High School. By analyzing how the absence of fathers influences boys’ academic performance, behavior, and social development, the study explores the broader implications for community development. Employing both qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews and case studies, it aims to identify root causes of absenteeism and evaluate how increased paternal involvement could positively impact community cohesion and progress. The findings will help formulate targeted interventions for inner-city communities facing these challenges. Ultimately, the study seeks to generate practical recommendations to promote stronger family relationships and foster sustainable community development.
