The research focuses on how secondary school teachers in Akure Metropolis, Nigeria, utilize behavioral modification techniques to manage student misconduct effectively. It highlights the limitations of traditional disciplinary methods like corporal punishment, advocating for positive, evidence-based strategies to promote better behavior and academic achievement. The study investigates the frequency and effectiveness of these techniques across different student age groups and classes, with the goal of enhancing classroom control and fostering a conducive learning environment. Data collected from teachers and students will provide insights into current practices and areas for improvement. Ultimately, the research aims to guide educators in implementing appropriate behavioral management practices that support student development and academic success, contributing to more disciplined and productive schools in Nigeria.
