Professional Project I

Nicole Shim participated in a comprehensive Project Management Certificate Course at Mona School of Business, UWI, Jamaica, which she completed in March 2026. Throughout the course, she developed essential skills such as creating project charters, communication plans, and risk management strategies, alongside understanding project governance and scope management. A significant aspect of her learning was the hands-on experience with Project Libre software, which helped her better grasp project scheduling and budgeting. Although the course was demanding and stressful, especially during group assignments, she persevered by leveraging external assistance from her son, a Software Developer. While the course did not directly relate to her current job or major at AIU, it provided valuable knowledge and skills that she considers beneficial for her professional growth.
