Research Projects

One of the purposes of a Master’s in Global Health Research project is to allow students to put into action what they have learned theory (the problem) into practice (the solution) while developing advanced levels of inquiry, investigation, and analytical skills. Thesis Defense for Masters in Global Health

The thesis defense for a Master’s in Global Health is the capstone experience that represents what the student has accomplished, and their ability to independently and originally conduct research on an important health problem in relation to Global Health. In the Msc in Global Health thesis defense, the student will prepare an oral presentation of their research, methods, findings, and conclusions to an academic committee, as well as demonstrate their mastery of the subject area, and their ability to apply theory to practice.

In the Master’s in Global Health program, we have the opportunity to participate in 2 live classes each day. The live online classes foster a dynamic and interactive space for students to build, learn and engage together as a community. Live classes link learners to a faculty and community of learners from around the world for non-formal collective discussions, collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and discourses on pressing issues, themes and ideas in global health. Live classes provide opportunities for students to consider concepts, theories, case studies, and applications in “real” time. Participants are invited to ask questions and present alternative perspectives. The combination of both synchronous learning (live classes) with asynchronous learning (Flexibility of online courses) every day through 2 daily classes is meant to offer students a structure with academic support daily trellis, learning process and designs of curriculum but mostly to keep students engaged and motivated.
