AIU’s Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts (BA VPA) is a distance-based and flexible program that supports the student’s ability to foster their creativity and develop their artistic skills while also enhancing an intellectual curiosity towards culture and arts. As an artist and practitioner you will make a duty through your contribution to society as an artist and cultural maker. Instead of having fixed courses as in other institutions, AIU allows the student to select the courses that they want to study, with the help of the faculty to develop their own programmes of study.

The many subjects offered by AIU’s bachelor of visual and performing arts in the study of Visual & Performing Arts includes: Digital/Multimedia Arts, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Drawing, Cultural Anthropology, Aesthetics and Writing for Artists. The core curricula and subject matter of the Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts offered at Atlantic International University will provide you with a solid grounding in the following areas of creativity and artistic theory: But, we wish to highlight that for our students these subjects are grouped under the heading “Core Course” because each Core Course has its own specific focus; visual design principles, drawing/painting techniques, digital/multimedia arts, photography/sculpture/history/aesthetics, and Performance Fundamentals. Therefore, if your Core Course does not include any of these Core Courses, you may only study them as a separate Course. As a result, you need to study all of these concepts because they will give you a broader range of skills as an artist.

Your Core Course will also emphasise Creative Expression, Critical Thinking and Interdisciplinary Exploration. Our aim is to broaden our students’ understanding of artistic Movements, Cultural Contexts and Contemporary Practice; all of which will ultimately assist our students in acquiring Technical Skills and Conceptual Depth as well as providing them with a Well-balanced Artistic Perspective for Use in Various Creative Careers.

Orientation Courses : Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts

The first step in the Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts process is an orientation course, which will give you skills to help you adjust to the self-directed and andragogical model. In this course, you’ll learn important academic, research and organizational skills and engage in a lot of self-reflection and goal-setting. You’ll have opportunities to participate in activities that will provide you with experiential learning, communication and investigation, knowledge of organizational theory and cultural and international development seminars to build a strong foundation for independent visual and performing arts degree study. Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts Admission Requirements

The Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts program offered by Atlantic International University has specific requirements for admission to make sure all students who are applying to attend this university are ready to have a self-directed, interdisciplinary, creative learning experience at the university. Generally speaking, prospective students who want to apply to this program should be able to produce evidence that they have a high school diploma or equivalent, show evidence of strong interest in the visual and/or performing arts, as well as a portfolio and/or samples of their creative works demonstrating the student’s ability and potential.
