We are thrilled to announce the Call for Papers for the 15th Interdisciplinary Conference on Aging & Social Change, which will take place from 22-24 October 2025 in Norrköping, Sweden. The conference will bring together global thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners to discuss the critical issues facing aging populations worldwide.

This highly anticipated conference offers a unique platform for interdisciplinary dialogue on the multifaceted relationship between aging and social change. Participants are invited to explore how aging impacts—and is impacted by—social, economic, political, and cultural transformations.

The Call for Papers encourages submissions from scholars and professionals across diverse fields, including sociology, gerontology, public policy, healthcare, economics, and more. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

  • Social, political, and economic implications of aging populations
  • Healthcare systems and aging societies
  • Technological innovations in elderly care
  • Cultural perspectives on aging and intergenerational relationships
  • Retirement, work, and well-being in later life
  • Gender, race, and inequality in aging experiences
  • Policy responses to demographic shifts
  • Ethical issues in aging and care

Conference Dates: 22-24 October 2025

Held at the scenic Campus Norrköping of Linköping University, the conference promises to offer an intellectually stimulating environment with vibrant networking opportunities. In addition to academic presentations, the conference will host panel discussions, keynote addresses from renowned experts, and workshops focusing on innovative research methodologies.

This year’s theme, “Aging in Times of Global Transition,” seeks to examine how global challenges such as climate change, economic fluctuations, migration, and technological advancements influence the lived experiences of aging populations. Attendees will engage in critical conversations on how societies can adapt to demographic shifts and create inclusive, sustainable futures for all generations.

As the world faces unprecedented demographic changes, this conference serves as a crucial forum for understanding the complex interplay between aging and social dynamics. Hence, it welcomes experts and innovators to Norrköping to advance discussions that will shape the future of aging societies.
