What task do you think you could automate with AI so you can devote yourself to activities you enjoy more?
What skill should you train so that your efforts have greater meaning?
If you found yourself in a hypothetical future where AI was the one moving the rock… How could you use your unique background and learning to solve a specific problem?
The purpose of AI, since its inception, has always been to reduce the time it takes us to do tasks in order to give us more time for wisdom. The faster you identify that “rock,” the more time you will have to build your legacy of intellect and success, step by step.

You have probably heard the myth in which a man is forced to roll a rock to the top of a mountain, only to have it roll back down to the bottom when he reaches the top. That man was the king of Aetolia, whose name was Sisyphus. He was able to avoid death twice, and for his audacity, he was punished by the gods in this way. This myth has been noted for its multiple symbolisms and forms it can take. However, it reminds us of the struggle to achieve our dreams, even if they are out of reach at the moment.
People like Albert Camus, who wrote an essay on this myth, highlight how irrational it can be to see a person who knows that all their efforts will be defeated in the end, yet continues to try anyway. It is not wrong to try, but in this case, the rock is seen more as an exhausting act in which Sisyphus, even though he knows the rock will fall, returns to repeat the process, just as we often cling to circumstances that we know will have the same outcome.
Here at Atlantic International University (AIU), we are aware of the great and true value of studying. Especially when it comes to guided self-instruction. It’s time to think about freeing yourself from mechanical tasks that slow down your progress, and this is precisely one of the advantages brought about by the advent of artificial intelligence, a creation that marked a historic turning point, as described by Brian Roemmele, an expert on AI.
Now is the time to stop carrying the heavy rock, to stop repeating the same thing over and over again. We want to invite you to think about ways you could use these technological advances as a focus that allows you to move from repetitive work to more strategic work, where you shift your raw effort to the development of your intellect.
Contrary to what many conservatives may think, artificial intelligence is not here to become our enemy; rather, it is designed to enhance our strengths. As Brian Roemmele, an expert on these issues, has said on several occasions, this type of intelligence is a kind of amplifying mirror. It is capable of expanding human awareness of topics we are unfamiliar with, thereby allowing us to move the rock alongside us, making the weight much lighter.
It is also important to note that AI will never be able to give us skills such as having our own criteria, intuition, empathetic decision-making, and perhaps the most complex, the search for purpose, but it can make tasks faster, clear up ideas, and give us a more summarized context of hours of research. Every time artificial intelligence helps us with a task, we are saving time, which we can then invest in something much bigger, whether it be writing a report or observing trends. AI is currently a way of recovering the resource that is most scarce to all of us in our increasingly fast-paced lives: time.
All of the above is not simply theory; it is something that is happening right now, and with the advances that are emerging, it has continued to spread at great speed. Below, we share some model cases of companies that are perfect examples of this.
This is one of the technology companies that has endured the longest in its market, and recently, it has taken on the task of adding AI to its systems, one of which is Watson, an AI that initially sought to process medical and legal information.
Over time, Watson has earned a place as an assistant with cognitive capabilities, freeing many professionals from frustrating repetitive tasks. It is worth noting how it has been able to help doctors in the healthcare field by analyzing millions of clinical cases and searching for the most accurate diagnosis possible. Thanks to this, doctors no longer spend their time searching through vast amounts of information, but rather making decisions from a more human perspective.

This company went a step further than simply implementing a system. It created a philosophy that combines elements as opposite as automation and human discernment, so that machines stop if something out of the ordinary is detected, allowing humans to resolve the issue. This system is known as Jidoka; it is an intelligent movement that does not seek to replace employees, but rather to give them time to think correctly, learn, and thus improve processes.
Google DeepMind and the science of elevated thinking:
This is a company that has teams such as DeepMind (an artificial intelligence research laboratory), which were able to create systems so complex that they surpass humans in several factors, for example, in chess games.
The point here is that the idea behind the creation of this was never to compete; it is simply a learning process, a way of observing the creative decisions that AI makes, which humans have not yet considered. Every day, scientists discover new topics in fields such as biology, energy, and sustainability. This type of intelligence can also become a teacher from whom we can learn, which in some way facilitates our learning.
In these new times, we can no longer cling to the concept of education based solely on memorization; it is important to train our judgment. Machines are capable of processing data, but only humans can interpret it and give it meaning. Therefore, those students who are sufficiently curious are the ones who will become leaders in the years to come: citizens capable of reasoning, critical thinking, and ethics.
Even though AI will take care of these operational tasks, humans will always be responsible for making the big decisions: what to do, why, and with what goal. And of course, self-directed learning as promoted in our academy is different and special. Students play a leading role in their own progress, using AI in the process as a digital mentor.
In today’s professional life, Value is applied wisdom
Currently, applied wisdom is the spotlight that companies are seeking. Technical knowledge is no longer sufficient because in today’s world of work, what matters is the ability to make sound decisions, with ethics and appropriate strategies to face the endless challenges that arise in today’s job market.
There are many examples that could be mentioned. For example, the culture of purpose at Microsoft, transformed its corporate culture by incorporating a growth mindset. By incorporating the use of artificial intelligence to streamline processes, it motivated each team to work with technology from a place of empathy and inclusion. Since this change, Microsoft has become a company with a purpose.
Similarly, Netflix boosted its creativity through AI, using algorithms with significant advances to know in advance what users’ preferences were and what they enjoyed most. In this way, they already knew what content to broadcast and what would be successful.
The new vision of success: Knowledge and wisdom
Artificial intelligence redefines success through productivity and mission, because in the future, success will not be about doing more, but about having a better understanding. The people, companies, and institutions that use AI will be the ones with the greatest influence and efficiency.
To quote Albert Camus in The Myth of Sisyphus, “The secret of happiness lies in loving the rock.” In these times, love can be interpreted as what we push for, that is, teaching the process and knowing when it is time to let go of the rock, the process of ascending, creating, and thinking.
If you want to evolve, curiosity will be your ally
Curiosity has always been a driving force for creativity and innovation. All the figures who have achieved great things in the world, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Steve Jobs, turned their passion for the unknown into transformation and innovation that revolutionized the world.
Jobs’ ideas were to connect art with technology using imagination, emotion, and reason, areas where humans cannot be replaced. The human mind is curious and asks the right questions, while AI generates the answers. Therefore, continuous learning is currently what drives relevance, leaving backwardness behind and driving innovation.
Now, as technology evolves by leaps and bounds, it can feel threatening, and many people wonder: will we be replaced by AI in our jobs? The answer is no, because machines will always do the work and humans will lead. Repetitive tasks are already done by machines, while humans have more time to think, to be creative, to transcend, and to inspire others.
To respond to life’s challenges, you must be prepared, and not necessarily from a position within an organization. Those who value and protect their ideas are the ones who blaze the trail in companies, industries, communities, and new generations.
If you are a student who needs to develop fundamental skills and be an agent of change, studying in the areas of organizational leadership, management, and strategic innovation will be a plus for your learning. Remember that at AIU, we offer customized and flexible programs, with the aim of supporting people who have the desire to start a project that will surely lead them to success.
So dare to eliminate repetitive effort from your life and start applying innovation, because every step you take in your academic and personal journey will shape and determine your future. This is the perfect opportunity to start building the legacy you want to leave behind, full of wisdom and inspiration for everyone around you.
