Bachelor in Islamic Studies Admission Requirements

The standard admission criteria for the Bachelor in Islamic Studies were established to assure the student has the necessary skills to be successful in this degree. Students who are applying must usually be able to demonstrate a high school graduation or equivalent credential; written and oral fluency in English (or the predominant language used for instruction); and submit their Academic Transcript for review. A personal essay describing the applicant’s connection to the study of Islam, as well as reference letters evaluating the applicant’s academic performance and motivation are required, although these requirements differ by program. Some programs may also require the submission of an example of the applicant’s writing or research, and in some cases, an interview with an Admissions Advisor will be conducted to evaluate the applicant’s readiness for independent and self-directed study. All of the above criteria will assist the applicant in being prepared to succeed in a flexible, interdisciplinary, and research-focused learning environment.
