As a busy professional, I struggled to advance my career and my education simultaneously. After researching different distance learning options, I chose AIU for several reasons. First of all, I could progress at my own pace. This was important knowing that I would periodically have deadlines or pressures at work that would take precedence to my academics. As our small company grew, this was beneficial when I needed to take a sabbatical from academia for a period of time. Secondly, I was able to design a curricula based upon topics that were important and relevant to me. This enabled me to merge my professional and academic paths into one smooth highway, leading in the same direction. Finally, I was not interested in a PhD, but rather a DSc. AIU was one of the very few that offered this particular degree in my area of interest.
This program requires self-discipline, ambition and organization, but it also allows the student to infuse creativity and a personal touch into the assignments. For the professional who is driven to excel in his / her career, AIU offers a means to accomplish academic and experiential synergy.
Respectfully,
