Atlantic International University (AIU) is a distance learning university based in the USA.
It is a very good alternative for adults like me, who do not have time to go back and join
the regular school.
My name is Tilahun Zaga, from Ethiopia, Addis Abeba. I live now in Switzerland.
When I was in Ethiopia, I earned a college diploma with a major of Automechanics,
“Advanced Auto Mechanic Technician.
Since I started to live in Switzerland, I have intensively sought a school in order to fulfil
my dream, which is acquiring a very good knowledge about the engineering concept
and holding a degree as an Engineer; but it does not work for some reasons.
One day, at the beginning of the autumn time I sat down on my chair in front of my
laptop searching for some sort of open courses. During my search I saw an
advertisement that AIU gives a partial scholarship for many different departments; I just
quickly looked at the lists of the departments and have found my choice which is
Mechanical Engineering.
I did not waste any time thinking and picked my phone up and called the admission
department for information.
The phone was ringing. . .ringing. . .I was eager to hear what they say, the phone is now
available. Someone said hello. . .hello. . .on the other end of the phone was Stephanie
(Stephanie Figueroa), I answered my name is Tilahun Zaga. . . I continued my
introduction and explained what I want. She listened very quietly and explained to me
the overall process enough.
She was very helpful and after some official procedures I started to learn.
From AIU I benefited from Partial scholarship, Access online learning resources, I
myself determined the courses that are most relevant to me, its self-paced programme,
flexible time and many more.
All the staff, especially my advisor Dr. Franklin, Admission coordinator Stephanie, my
tutor Phillips and others who I did not mention were very responsive and helpful
throughout my learning time.
Now the hardship has gone, soon I earn my degree of Mechanical Engineering.
Thank you all
