Experience Letter
Let me express my deepest gratitude to the AIU authority for the enormous support and excellent environment created to complete my course. I have the rare opportunity to study at the AIU and enhancing my knowledge and skills in order to upgrade my career. There are lots of Universities offering various courses and degrees in the world. In the era of information superhighway for the information communication technology I have never seen such a friendly off campus distance learning methods supported by the latest user-friendly technology. At the outset the advisor and the tutor of the AIU who happened to be so friendly that encourages the most busy experienced people to pursue for the course.
The visual window of the electronic student section has a progress bar and is being updated which is a kind of “carrot and stick” which automatically tells the students to go ahead with their course. The subsections of the window is so designed so that students can click and see where they are and what is next or was there any comments or feedback from the course advisors. Moreover simultaneous mails through e-address alerting the students about the upcoming events and extra learning scope etc are all very much enjoyable. The phase one though simple but it gives a chance to the students to think through e.g., writing autobiography which is usually not being written in the as usual course. Therefore this enhances the skills of writing such assignment. The course offers essay writing which is much interesting and lots of scope through video presentations. The curriculum develop process has been really a learning opportunity which was challenging as I had to develop my own curriculum. The challenge is to identify gaps through self-assessment and most of us we are not used to it. However, with the guidelines have clear examples and a thought process has to be there to identify the real needs and thus the gaps emerging through this process and the curriculum reflected the essential issues and areas to be learnt throughout the study. The advisor and tutor are the most amazing people who always have been very helpful and demonstrated the values that AIU upholds and transfers to their students.
I learnt a lot on this during my career building while pursuing the courses. I believe those who did not have a chance would very much appreciate while touring the website of the AIU. I also learnt that the courses are important but one should be passionate about the learning and continue through the process in order to timely finish the course. I very much appreciate the both on line and offline assignment uploading and the system of grading which is unique at the AIU. Regarding course fee and the scholarship opportunities, if someone is serious about his or her studies can easily make it. In the year 2012 I have completed my first graduation in social development and that was really inspired me to further pursue another graduation in public health. This was possible only as I matched with my work place job and used that to learn more theoretical concepts and matched to my practical work. The job which I did in livelihood and poverty reduction helped me to design the course as I learnt the issues and areas to broaden my knowledge and skills through pursuing the study in social development which is also rare for a medical graduate to study. Given the chance offered by the AIU I have completed the course timely and was awarded the degree. The second course I have just completed is in the public health and throughout my life as a medical graduate I have been experiencing so much in public health. Since I have had the chance to leverage my previous studies while doing some training in public health I wanted to complete my learning. My future plan is to transfer my experience, skills and lessons to the next generation public health students through interacting and teaching and that fully matched with my career plan. The completion of public health course and the degree will help my future course of action.
With the above experience and lessons I would sincerely urge to all who wants to pursue career keeping their job since job is also important to support financing the implementation of someone’s career plan. The AIU is complete different environment with diverse resources which is up to a student who wants to tap degrees for their career growth and potentials.
Finally I would like to sincerely thank the AIU for giving me this opportunity to write my experience of pursing the graduation leading to degrees at the AIU. One should try as this course is cheaper than any other Universities.
Sincerely yours,
Munir Ahmed
