Studying at Atlantic International University has been one of the most brilliant decisions I have made in the history of my life.
Being a student at AIU was not about obtaining a bachelor’s degree, but was a whole journey of new life experience that nurtured and made me develop some sense of self-control as well as improved my knowledge, personal attitude, being accountable, widen by thinking ability to that of blue sky thinking to have things done using the modern information system. Also, I gained the spirit of persistence, and realised that nothing comes without hard work as a graduate.
About 21 years ago, I developed a dream to become one of the best Humanitarian Practitioner that United Nations has on staff. However, for many reasons, I could not leave my job and go back to the university to obtain a higher qualification in managing humanitarian activities. But I realised that I could still achieve my dreams through continuing education programs with AIU. Finally, this dream has become true possibly due to the professional and outstanding attitude of the member of staff at AIU. Remarkably the swift feedback and constant interface with my Tutors and fellow student that has built a strong networking platform during the academic journey but will be used long after this course.
Notwithstanding to recognise the administrative staff and student services department for their encouragement and patience even when tuition fees had delayed, you will realise assignments are still accepted and marked. This contribution resulted to this academic achievement worth appreciating.
Personally, I had serious financial problem with several domestic competing financial demand priorities affecting my tuition payment schedules. Thanks to Jaime and Dr Ricardo for additional scholarship, drawing a gesture that the AIU is not about financial benefits but indeed for a new age of distance education.
By studying topics such as managing people and organisation, managing humanitarian logistics as well as humanitarian operations during my bachelors’ program will not only expand my theoretical knowledge in humanitarian management, but it will also advance my managerial, analytical, and decision-making skills which will be presented in the long-term career headway. Therefore, as a Supply Chain professional with speciality in Humanitarian supply chain, I envision myself in providing leadership in managing complex humanitarian operations across africa and beyond.
The above experience has enhanced my ability to find a better job placement, improved my working style and accelerated my confidence into a more mature fellow.
Your sincere
