My Experience at AIU
Until now, all academic programmes all over the world have been structured in a straight jacket with the applicant or the candidate having no say in the curriculum design or the nomenclature of the programme under study. All over the world, traditional degrees are stereotypical and learners have no option but to sit in, study, and have the degrees conferred upon them. Then, AIU appeared on the scene with the option of flexibility and innovation!AIU programmes are simply learner-centred.I have the opportunity to suggest, design, and modify my own pathways leading to my degree, and carve my own title of the programme l want to study based on the functional analysis made.
In doing all these, you are constantly reminded to place your learning and discoveries within the local, regional, and international perspectives to illustrate evidence of learning on your part as a candidate.Learning must be situated and this AIU makes sure of.Much as it is possible for learners in the traditional classroom situations to just copy and paste to rush through their programmes of study scot free, AIU insists on originality, and no student can run away with plagiarism. As you are drilled on this over time, you turn to find academic work in AIU having an edge over most of the traditional classroom ones. You do not have to wait for your assessor to point out to you evidence of lack of originality, AIU offers you the opportunity to verify for yourself the status of your work before submitting it for evaluation.
Not only these, but also, the andragogic approach to learning is exceptional.Learning by discovery is the best way to teach adults, and this AIU offers its learners. As you search for, and strive to add flesh to your assignments, your resourcefulness is enhanced.
AIU is simply doing great, and l would not be surprised to see stiff competition coming from other quarters of the world in the near future.AIU be warned, get better and far ahead!
Thanks.
