Kum Sylvester Beng, PhD in Agricultural Sciences

“Soon after graduating with my Master’s Degree in Tropical and International Agriculture at the Georg- August University Goettingen Germany, I knew I wanted to continue my education by pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Agricultural Sciences, however, I also had the opportunity to work for a non- governmental organisation in Cameroon around this same time. Getting work experience was also important to me, so I didn’t know how I was going to be able to take advantage of both opportunities.
Earning my Doctorate degree online with Atlantic International University, USA was a very rewarding experience that exceeded all my expectations. The quality and flexibility offered by the AIU program compares with an on campus program. Internet access to the program is very easy and information is current at all times. You can access from work and home and even when travelling.
As a worker with and NGO, I had a very busy schedule with frequent temporary travel out of town. I had the flexibility of accessing the AUI student section and completing the required work on time. The professors/ Advisors /Tutors and supporting staff of the program have been flexible to accommodate any special arrangements when needed. They are available on a daily basis through email and can be reached easily via telephone. All work including exams and projects are submitted electronically.
The professors/Tutors are experienced professional bringing into the program their experiences and expertise on the latest technological advances. I am a Research Coordinator/ Trainer and Extension Officer with many years of experience and found the program has provided a valuable tool to my career. I found this online learning method to be a rewarding and efficient use of my time. Based on this successful experience, I recommend the program to all involved in Agricultural Sciences. They can apply the tools and techniques learned at AIU on their jobs. I am ready for the next challenge.
