EXPERIENCE AT AIU
The quest to have a balanced academic certificate was uppermost in heart. Then I enroll with a federal University in Nigeria for a part-time study, the activity of the lecturers and their mode of teaching discouraged me, and I withdrew from the University. I made several attempt to get myself registered online it failed. I finally got myself registered with the Atlantic International University (AIU), which granted me scholarship to study at my own pace. I was given the student manual which described the system of education I have never heard of before in my life, and this just fitted in with the kind of study I desired to have in my life time.
The academic department and student services assured me of their support to achieve my desired dream. The first experience I had during the cause of my study was the writing of my autobiography, and second, the preparation of my curriculum design proposal (planning and designing my own subjects in accordance with the AIU school standard). This was awesome experience and joy when I was told the curriculum has been approved. My special thanks go to my able Tutor Anabela Fonte who was there to give me the best advice on how to go about the design proposal.
The writing of the core subjects from my curriculum proposal after approval was a big challenge to me, as to the sourcing of the most current and recent books and articles for each subject. Most times I had to place the text book or the articles before my Laptop while I read, I type straight in to my computer my understanding and experience of what I have learned at that particular time. Most times I stay awake from 2am to 4am for my studies, and what I do is whenever I pick up a subject, I concentrate to make sure I understand what that topic is all about and what do I have to say about it. It was not easy but it worth it, for it is my life.
My very special thanks go to my Advisor, Dr. Jackie Burton who makes sure that I follow the standard set for me by the school. Dr. Jackie Burton is the best advisor in the world. She will always say the submission of your work is not properly done go back and do it the right way, I am waiting. She gives me the right steps on how to submit the assignment right. She advices me never to copy someone’s work without making mention of the author of that book or article. Thank you so much Dr. Jackie Burton, God Bless you. I also want to thank the Academic department and student services for their support and encouragement. Thank you all.
Yours Sincerely
