When I applied to further my studies at AIU, I was eager to achieve the following objectives:
- to explore modern techniques in improving my knowledge and skills which can be shared with various stakeholders such emerging farmers, governments, and NGOs in the quest to improve the living standards of the poor.
- to exchange knowledge with other academics from different countries and
- to provide institutional capacity in relation to effective, efficient, and economic fiscal management systems to our emerging farmers.
Today I am pleased and confident to announce that I have achieved more than I had anticipated. The online weekly classes offered by AIU have empowered me in gaining more knowledge in the Agricultural sector. AIU has empowered me to explore Artificial Intelligence which enables students to conduct research extensively. The assignments submitted during my studies created a platform to enrich my ability to gain knowledge in the following fields, Project management, Community development and Climate change.
I was aspired by the unique way in which AIU conducts the distance leaning to the students across the globe, affording students and academics to create their curriculum in shaping their future also unearthing their potential to address challenges facing the entire World. Studying with AIU was an incredible journey for which I am thankful.
As graduate I will be able interaction with governments in the SADC and contribute positively to craft policies which will better the livelihoods of the poor, fight poverty and ensure sustainable food security. I am optimistic that AIU will continue to play a pivotal role in producing future Leaders which will bring change in sustainable development.
Lastly, I look forwards to sharing my experience with other academics through publications and networking opportunities. Also to empower our farming communities and to put our resource poor farmers on an economic footing. It was opportune for me to investigate what worked previously, what did not work and craft the remedial actions to improve the farmer’s skill to deal with the challenges faced by South Africans, viz poverty, unemployment, and inequality.
