My name is Omar Henry;
I started my Degree program in Mechanical Engineering on June 4th
2016 at the Atlantic International University. Before my encounter with AIU I
had made contact with other institutions with the goal in mind to fulfill my
academic ambitions of pursuing a first degree in Refrigeration Mechanic. However,
with my financial constraints of being unable to pay my tuition fee in one
installment, I could not consider the offers made by most institutions
contacted. Nevertheless, through pervasive searches I found Atlantic
International University through a web search and that was the start of very
good relationship.
Some of the
benefits of the program pursued at Atlantic International University were that
my work experience could have been used as an advantage to advance further in
the program. Having several years of work experience in the field of
Refrigeration had allowed me to earn credits which was accredited to my
academic program enabling me to avoid areas of studies which I was already
familiar with. Moreover, it allowed me to fulfil my academic goals in a timely and
efficient manner. The idea of students selecting their courses to assist with
achieving their goals is a brilliant idea, as only the student would have a
sense of what they really need to know and the respective experiences in their
field of studies. This structure of study has helped me tremendously as I am
now a more rounded individual in my academic, social, personal and career driven
achievements.
My experience at
Atlantic International University is one which I will cherish as this is my
first time pursuing an academic programme at a University. The knowledge which
I have garnered at AIU has allowed me to become more efficient, motivated,
responsive and knowledgeable. More so, it has helped enhance my team building,
interpersonal and leadership skills. Pursuing my Bachelor of Science degree at
AIU was the best decision that I have made as it has given me a feeling of
belonging and a sense of purpose.
