EXPERIENCE
LETTER AT AIU
My
name is Emiola Olawale Kolapo Steve with student ID #:
UAD16742SOP24459. I enrolled
for a masters Degree in Operations Research in August 2011. I have searched
around for programme of this nature in my country, Nigeria for a long time. When
I could not find anyone, I decided for an oversea search. I am a busy man, with
an involvement in an evangelical ministry. I had wanted a programme that would
enable me continue my ministry and also my academic pursuit. I came across the
online programme through a colleague who bagged her PHD last year. I was not
clear how possible I could achieve my goal through AIU.
I got admission with AIU in August 2010; I
could not start till August 2011. Since I have been on the programme it has
been wonderful. What I learnt during my M.sc in Operations Research (10 months)
cannot be compared with what I learnt in M.sc in 1994 to 1997. The difference
is clear.
The
study is tasking and need sincerity with oneself. I have to work overnight to meet up with
submission of assignments.
The
requirement of originality is another task that used to be heart panting as I submit
to turnitin to verify my assignments. The first time when I submitted and it
was 32% Similar, I was sent back for more research work by my advisor. He
insisted on 15% or less, the maximum I had is 12% throughout the course. The
tutor did a wonderful job by encouraging me not to give up. Since then I never
have to be turned down but work hard to make sure my work is more original
before submission.
Now that I have completed my M.sc in Operation Research, I look forward
to the PHD programme and I believe it will be most wonderful.
