Puttingthe pieces together…Living with emptiness and hunger in me all these years without a degree, lots of certificates and work experience. But I still wanted to earn my degree to be proud and to proof to myself that I can doit. After reading “I can you can too” for the 4th or 5th time it convinced me it was time. Then it all began in December 2009, when I finally found a University that took action to help and welcome me aboard to be a student at 41 years of age. Andragogy, as I knew it required discipline anddetermination and I have reached the point in my life to focus and do it.Right from the start AIU guided me and with the student handbook and staff just a message away I felt confident and excited to reach my dreams and goals soon.I am earning my Bachelors, with a Major in Elementary Education so by way of Andragogy I am learning about pedagogy and it has been great. The open curriculum sure was a welcome and refreshing point to find, to be able toembrace my individual needs and interests made me eager and excited about studying at AIU. Being able to focus on my strengths and to be able to improve on my weaknesses got me started and focused. As a teacher for years I know that learning is a life-long process. I will continue to learn and study forever and ever, thank you for the part you played in my education.Elizabeth A. Hulme
