When I saw the AIU adverts on my Gmail page, I got excited and enquired straightway about the University’s requirements and fees. At first when I got the information especially on the fees issue, I withdrew altogether knowing that with my income, I can hardly manage to pay. It was after I gave up that I got a communication from AIU as of why I have been quite. I then explained that my income cannot allow me to enroll and it was as if I was dreaming that I was informed that there is a possibility for me to get a scholarship if the council approves my case. I then requested for the required documents so I can fill which I did. Hurray! It happened, I got the scholarship and I have only been required to pay only a fraction of the total fees and the rest have been paid for me! To me, AIU is God sent because it came in when I lost all the hope of upgrading myself academically due to the financial constraints that I am having.
While in course of my studies, AIU gave me the rare chance to formulate my own curriculum and my degree is so unique as I have pursued what I intend to use in my professional life.
AIU’s staff have been awesome during my studies. The academic advisors, tutors etc, have always been there for me. A number of times I have received phone calls regarding my studies and it gave me the comfort that this University has its learners’ needs at heart. The experience I have with AIU will forever be appreciated and I will always recommend it to my many friends who are struggling to upgrade themselves academically.
