Before AIU, I was indifferent to the concept of andragogy because I was too busy with my circular work and caring for my children. When I enrolled, I found that even a busy life was no barrier to education.Among the many perks of being at AIU, I appreciate my caring tutors and academic advisors the most. They have been approachable and readily available whenever I needed help in any aspect of my program. I felt like they were holding my hand gently, walking me through my academic program. I received emails containing my assignments. Sometimes they would call from time to time to check up on my progress, encouraging me to learn at my pace. I had some bad days when things were not going smoothly; I was making slow progress. The tutors were there for me every step of the way. The staff at the Student Services too were not left out. They cared about my being active academically and financially each month and would send me courteous reminders concerning these. One part of my AIU experience I appreciated was the scholarship offer. I know that without it, there was a good chance that I would not have been able to enroll. The payment options for the rest of my tuition have been flexible, enabling me to pay in monthly installments over some time. I cannot thank AIU enough for this opportunity. Another enjoyable part of my study at AIU was my access to a world-class online library. I found material on just about any topic I needed to research while writing my assignment essays. I enjoyed the flexibility of my program. I was able to work at my own pace, write essays, and select courses I felt were intrinsic to my learning program. I was even allowed to design my curriculum.I also learned a few tech things at AIU. I learned how to automatically generate a bibliography using Word, from the web addresses I visited while researching. It might sound weird but I had never known I could do that before. Now thanks to AIU, I can do that easily.Perhaps the most important aspect of my study at AIU was my exposure to people of different races and cultural backgrounds. I have been able to meet so many of them through webinars, which have broadened my mind.I’ve learned so much during my study here and if I was asked to summarize my experience in a sentence, I’d say it was wonderful.I am eternally grateful to AIU for helping me become a much better version of myself.Angela Duru
