Information has become the main raw material in the future, and technology has been the most important tool for dissemination of that information. Consequently, virtual learning and distance education has become the common mode of transferring knowledge, skill, and experience. In this era of information technology distance education programmes are expected to play a key role in transforming the world into a borderless educational arena and as such my experience with your institution has been exceptional.
Having graduated from the institute of professional studies in Ghana, and considering my options in for an academic degree, I needed a school that transcended the pages of its prospectus and that would challenge me academically as well as giving me the opportunity to be socially active. Education at AIU has added a value to my already build integrity as a person and as such the objectives I had before enrolling in the school have been meet to some extent. One major value I have gained from the school is the provision of a liberal educational foundation which has enabled me to have a feeling for and an understanding of different modes of intellectual thought and as they relate to various processes of living. Furthermore, been at AIU also did enabled me to acquire a meaningful appreciation of major national development problems and their possible implications for international relation in Africa and the rest of the world. Again, my self-confidence, ability to innovate, habits scholarship and constructive and development oriented approach to problem solving has been develop strongly and have equip me with specialized knowledge and skills needed for the pursuit of careers in different sectors of the economy
I believe AIU is guided by a student centred philosophy of education focusing on serving the needs of students, nurturing and challenging them to grow socially, physically, morally and intellectually. The major goal of staffs was to prepare productive citizens and future leaders who can serve the national and global community in diverse ways. Education here has been stressed on responsiveness to student needs without compromising academic standards, individual responsibilities among students, lectures and staff, inquiry and application of knowledge to real life and above all critical thinking and the value of life-long learning. The provision of personal tutors who monitors the development of the student was astounding in their provision of academic and personal support. The courtesy I got from member of staff made me feel like the executive president of a country. Despite the lofty achievement of AIU financing ones education is not an obstacle because the school has various financial provisions for support different regions and backgrounds. At the completion of my studies, I have realised that I did not go to a school but I have attended an institution.
