Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Part I

In today’s class on Disaster Risk Management (DRM), I learned about the critical distinctions between human and natural disasters, along with their respective examples. The session emphasized the importance of preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation in managing disasters. Additionally, I gained insights into key terminology such as risk, hazard, and danger, which are vital for understanding the complexities of disaster management. This knowledge will enable me to raise awareness in my community about the risks associated with violence and natural disasters, ultimately contributing to better preparedness and response strategies. Engaging with these concepts will enhance my ability to support vulnerable populations during crises effectively.
