Risk Analysis – Open Course
Introduction to Risk Management
The document is a risk assessment report conducted for a residential property owned by Mrs. Aruna Mistry, located at 25 Hunter Road, Leicestershire. The assessment was completed by Naieem Ashraf on April 22, 2021.
The report begins with an asbestos risk assessment section, where it is noted that the customer indicated the possibility of asbestos being present in the property. The assessment includes a checklist format, asking whether there is any reason to suspect asbestos, and if so, to identify the specific location and condition of the material. It also inquires if the material could be accidentally disturbed or damaged, and whether any asbestos work is required, such as removal or drilling. The main types of asbestos present are categorized, including options like AIB (Asbestos Insulating Board), lagging, floor covering, and cement products.
Following the asbestos section, the report details various hazards identified during the risk assessment process. These hazards include manual handling, slips, trips and falls, dangerous machinery, the use of hand and power tools, electrical works, drilling, and working in occupied premises. Each hazard is assessed for its presence, whether it is controlled, and if it is safe to continue with the work. Comments are provided for each hazard, indicating whether the task has been made safe.
Additional information is included regarding emergency precautions, such as the number of employees on site, mobile phone signal strength, access for emergency services, and the availability of personal protective equipment (PPE). The report emphasizes the importance of safety measures, including the inspection of ladders, the provision of dust sheets, barriers, safety signs, and RCD protection.
Overall, the document serves as a comprehensive overview of the risks associated with the job site, the presence of asbestos, and the necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment for all involved.
