AIU custom-tailored program to develop an understanding of your field beyond the textbook to integrate theories into practical real world applications.

A brief summary

AIU program is offered for various disciplines and allows students to develop areas needed for growth in their profession. Since each student's area of work is unique based on the company, position, or industry they work in, the objectives for the courses taken also allow for modification and individualization.

Requirements

To fulfill the requirements of the Degree Program as established by the Academic Committee, the Student performs research, (using the Internet or other Approved Resources), to investigate and select courses from at least 2, AIU Approved colleges or universities, offering the same discipline at the Associates level, as the Student's designated Degree Program.

Phase One

  • Is the key component which ensures the student’s success as a professional and human being by taking into account life experiences, the surrounding environment, as well as what the student strives for in his future self at the personal, family, social, economic, and cultural levels; within a local, national and global scope. For this purpose, a number of foundational assignments are undertaken, to be completed within 15 hours over a 15 day time period.

Phase Two

  • It starts with the development of optional research papers that give students multidimensional and multifunctional insight on a level that allows optimal development in a changing multifaceted environment. A student can then develop courses defined in his/her own Curriculum design and/or directly take the courses offered by AIU online. All of this is complemented by MYAIU which gives the student potential for success and constant auto-update to the level of the best universities and opportunities around the world.

Phase Three

  • If necessary, the student can develop their final work as a project, thesis or case study, enabling the student to achieve his/her objectives.

Phase Four

  • In this phase the student completes the administrative steps required for graduation at AIU; as well as the students’ future and continuous participation in the University community.

Areas of Study

All degree programs are designed for professional adults. After evaluating both academic records and Life Experience, AIU staff working in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Advisors, establishes the student's Academic Status. The student's Academic Status defines the number of Credit Hours the student must complete to fulfill the academic guidelines of the institution.

The AIU Difference

Science has yet to discover the precise mechanism by which the individual learns. However, it is acknowledged that the act of learning is endogenous, (from within), rather than exogenous. This fact is the underlying rationale for "Distance Learning" in general, and all of the degree programs offered by the University.
