Associate in Electrochemical Engineering

School of Science and Engineering

Academic Freedom to Discover Your Purpose
Open Curriculum Design at Atlantic International University

The Associate of Electrochemical Engineering prepares students to research, analyze, practice electrochemistry as a field that transforms chemical energy to electrical energy. Some topics involve energy storage, generating more electricity from the same source, corrosion and how to avoid it. Electrochemical technologies, concepts and topics are champions of new processes to reduce carbon emissions and have cleaner energy sources. This field continues to grow due to the need for new “green” initiatives like the distribution of energy, combining heat and power, micro-generation, load balancing for power grids, low carbon manufacturing processes and solar power. Electrochemical processes are often times found in the new era of the car industry as many electric cars use electrochemical reactions with batteries and supercapacitors. As we continue to move towards a better future by recycling waste, removing contaminants, manufacturing materials in a cleaner way and water sterilization, the field of electrochemical engineering will continue to lead the way with new solutions. The program of Electrochemical Engineering at AIU, is a distance learning program that will be tailor-made and designed exclusively for you, by you, and with your counselor. The flexibility to meet your needs is rarely found in any other distance learning program. Our program does not require that each student studies the same subjects and uses the same books and study materials as other students. Instead, our online Bachelor Programs are designed just for you. They are individually designed to meet your needs and help you achieve your professional and personal goals.

Important: You can find below an example of the topics or areas of study that you can develop and work on during your study program. This does not mean, in any way, that said example implies being a complete list that you are obliged to carry out at AIU, but that it is used by you as it is, an example or guide at your service. We remind you that AIU does not require its students to follow a standardized curriculum. Do you want to learn more about curriculum design at AIU? (Courses and Study Plans)

Career Center in Bachelor of Electrochemical Engineering

Electrochemical engineers are either employed by public or private entities for research and to design and improve processes that deal with electrochemistry. Many Electrochemical Engineers are doing research in labs or in offices, but they also visit industrial plants to monitor, analyze or research. Other tasks include cell fabrication, researching new energy sources and battery related tasks. In most electrochemical jobs, there is a big component of research and analyzing the data visually as well as using different tools to analyze and measure different components of chemical changes. There is as well much emphasis on jobs that work with batteries specifically, but also voltage and wattage factors to continue to improve common consumer devices. The average salary is $88,353 per year as researched by ZipRecruiter
