Atlantic International University Congratulates AIU Graduate Gil Itay on the Publication of His Groundbreaking Thesis
Atlantic International University (AIU) is proud to announce the latest academic achievement of one of its distinguished graduates, Gil Itay. Gil has successfully completed his Doctorate program in National Security and Defense and has recently published his thesis titled “Human Behavior and Performance Under Stress” on the AIU Student Publication Website. This remarkable research delves into the impact of stress on human performance, particularly in high-stakes military environments, and presents new strategies for improving resilience among combat fighters.
Gil’s thesis investigates the CWR Model—a performance enhancement framework he developed—designed to evaluate and improve the mental resilience and response of combat soldiers in stressful scenarios. By examining the behavior and performance of several elite special units, Gil Itay’s work aims to mitigate the long-term risks of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military personnel.
Thesis Abstract: The purpose of this study was to create a scale to measure individual performance under stress, particularly for combat soldiers, and to assess the effectiveness of the CWR model developed by the researcher. Through testing elite special units before and after model implementation, the research analyzed how soldiers and commanders reacted to real-life operational threats.
This research is crucial for improving combat readiness while reducing the chances of post-traumatic stress. The intervention program was tested with special units including Unit 212, Duvdevan, and Yams—all of whom combat terrorism. The findings show a significant improvement in performance across all units and commanders, validating the model’s effectiveness in fostering mental resilience and better operational responses under pressure.
Gil Itay’s research makes a significant contribution to military training and mental health support, aligning with AIU’s mission to cultivate leaders capable of innovative thinking and impactful contributions to their fields.
