Grants & Peer Review

Grants are an important opportunity that students and professionals can utilize to help make their projects or vision a reality. They go hand in hand with the AIU Pledge to contribute to the UNESCO 2030 Goals. The start of the process is to identify one’s own niche of expertise and match it to available grants. Next is the development and application which is the Grant Writing process. Once a grant is approved the focus shifts to execution of the plan, proper administration of the funds and documentation of the results.

An important component of academics is the publication of research and the peer review process. Through this process the community specializing in the subject at hand can critique and validate the data, analysis, and concussions presented in the research. Scientific methods utilized and data gathering techniques can be challenged. Lastly and most importantly it provides an opportunity for others to reproduce the results. Discoveries and conclusions must not be single occurrences but be able to be consistently reproduced by others in the field if the work is to be given any weight and recognition. That serves as one of the key functions of the peer review process.
