Turning Experience into Education: AIU Awards Course Credits for Work and Life Achievements
In a world where experience is as valuable as education, Atlantic International University (AIU) is making waves with an innovative and flexible academic model—one that gives real-world experience the recognition it deserves.
AIU now officially offers course credits for work and professional experience, helping students fast-track their degrees by leveraging what they already know. Whether it’s past employment, leadership roles, self-directed learning, or even published research, AIU honors the practical knowledge and accomplishments students bring to the table.
Do You Qualify for Experience-Based Credits?
Students are encouraged to reflect on the following:
- Have you accomplished meaningful results at work?
- Led or contributed to major projects?
- Gained skills through seminars, webinars, or online courses?
- Were in leadership roles in your organization or community?
- Filed a patent, published research, or written a book?
If you answered yes to any of the above, your experience may translate into academic credit.

Once your application is submitted, the Academic Department will schedule an interview to assess your qualifications.
Get Credit Before You Even Enroll
Unlike traditional universities, AIU also recognizes relevant experience earned before enrollment. So even if you’re just beginning your academic journey with AIU, your past work doesn’t go unnoticed.
Internships also count—students may request an official letter from their tutor to present to any organization where they’d like to intern. This hands-on learning can then be credited toward their degree.
A Smarter Path to Your Degree
This forward-thinking model empowers adult learners, career professionals, and innovators to progress academically without redundant coursework. It’s about recognizing what you’ve done, what you know, and where you’re going.
