Awards for the 2012 First International Architecture Biennale of AIU. - January-2-2012
For this edition, we asked all Architectural students from the school of Architecture of AIU, to submit proposals under various categories for the reconstruction of Haiti’s capital, Port au Prince, which was devastated by a massive earthquake in 2010.

For this edition, we asked all Architectural students from the school of Architecture of AIU, to submit proposals under various categories for the reconstruction of Haiti’s capital, Port au Prince, which was devastated by a massive earthquake in 2010. Of the convocation and the projects submitted, both the panels of jurors; Dr. Fabian Restelli of Argentina,
Dr. Jose Mercado of Mexico, Dr. Ricardo Gonzalez of Mexico, the council of Architect Sal Salvador of Puerto Rico and the coordination of this server, Architect Luis Daniel Rivera, in a general consensus the awards were determined in the following manner:


Institutional Architecture Award:
From Colombia: Esperanza Ortega Cubillos
Project: Medical Center University of Port au Prince


Architecture Award for Social Interest:
From Jamaica: Graig Montieth
Project: Housing Development of Social Interest


Religious Architecture Award:
From Mexico: Andres Garcia Morett
Project: Sacred Heart Parish of Port au Prince


Restorative Architecture Award:
From Argentina: Maria Rosa Flat
Project: Restoration Proposal of the Cathedral of Port au Prince

The Grand Contest Winner of the 2012 First International Architecture Biennale of AIU is:
From Colombia: Esperanza Ortega de Cubillos, “Medical Center University of Port au Prince”.

These are the awards for the first edition of the 2012 International Architecture Biennale.
