We would like to congratulate our graduate Richmond Acheampong

We would like to congratulate our graduate Richmond Acheampong. Richmond co-authored an article with a colleague and it has been published on the Durreesamin Journal. You can read an Abstract of his article below:

Abstract:

The study gauged the good and the bad of media coverage of terrorism. The simple random sampling was used to select 400 respondents from the regions of Ghana for interview. It was found among other things all the 400 respondents, representing 100 percent said they have never seen people engaged in acts of violence after they watched media report on terrorist attacks, while 2 percent respondents argued they would not campaign for the media to continue to report on terrorist attacks because terrorists use the media to communicate their message and recruit followers. The recommendations made were: First, the media should not use language or visuals that appear to glorify or promote terrorist activities when reporting terrorism. Secondly, audiences should see the media as partners in the global war on terrorism. Lastly, counter-terrorism experts must engage the media to make them realise they are partners in the global war on terrorism.
